OnShore Advisory Group LLC was founded by Richard S. Ellert who, after spending over a decade in Asia, running various size businesses, moved back to the US in 2012 with the intent to form an advisory firm to help small and medium size businesses learn from his years of global experience.
OnShore Advisory Group LLC is a boutique advisory firm, specializing in helping small to medium size businesses steer through the meanders of business decisions, including issues related to organization, operations, sourcing, business ethics, manufacturing, import/export, quality assurance / requirements, international sales & marketing.
With over two decades of hands-on operational experience across consumer goods industries, Mr. Ellert brings a perspective that derives from having worked his way up the corporate echelons and demonstrated the ability to affect change in cross border situations, with emphasis on process improvement, total cost implementation and innovative Sourcing strategies. Mr. Ellert is an expert in Supply Chain Integration, International Sourcing, Manufacturing Operations, Logistic Security (C-TPAT), Quality Improvement and Code of Conduct practices across Asia, Africa and Central/South America.
Prior to that launching OnShore Advisory, Mr. Ellert was the CEO of Ringtoys Limited, a leading OEM Consumer products manufacturer with a work force of over 5,000 in Hong Kong and China. Ringtoys Limited was the result of a buyout of the former Hutchison Harbour Ring toy division, which he acquired in October 08 with a group of European and Hong Kong investors.
Prior to joining Ringtoys, Mr. Ellert was Managing Director of Wah Shing Group, one of the top 10 toy manufacturers in the world. Wah Shing employs up to 18,000 people across 5 manufacturing locations in Southern China.
Mr. Ellert was an Executive Vice President, Supply Chain and Managing Director (Asia) of a leading European Toy Manufacturer, listed on the German Stock Exchange and before that was Senior Vice President, Quality for the world’s largest Apparel manufacturer.
Earlier, Mr. Ellert was Director of Technical Operations for the Sourcing arm of the largest Apparel retail group in the US, and also served as Country Manager in Egypt in addition to involvement in strategic sourcing initiatives in the Sub-Sahara region of Africa, in support of the African Growth Opportunity Act, passed by the US Congress in 1999.
Prior to 1999, Mr. Ellert was the Founder and CEO of Global Production & Sourcing Inc., a San Francisco based contract garment manufacturer with customers such as The Limited, M&F Girbaud, Healthtex, Lane Bryant, etc…
Mr. Ellert is the former Chairman of the Technical Advisory Board of the International Council of Toy Industries (ICTI) and as such was involved with the administration and direction of its Code of Business Practices and Code of Conduct activities.
Mr. Ellert has been a frequent speaker in the US and Asia, on issues ranging from Multi-Country Manufacturing, Innovation in process, Sourcing in emerging markets, Quality Improvement and Code of Conduct (Corporate Social Responsibility).
